The GAMEPLAN
Many households have a variety of used sports equipment stored in their attics, garages or sheds. Balls, bats, shoes, etc. that at one time saw action but now have been "retired" for a variety of reasons.
Charlotte Sports Closet aims to get these items in the hands of children in the Charlotte (NC) community who can best use them. The hope is that this gear will help these youth try a new sport and maybe find their passion, while also instilling the confidence, responsibility and teamwork that comes with playing a sport.
Charlotte Sports Closet looks to partner with local Charlotte elementary schools and community centers to provide the gently-used equipment donated by members of the community. Interested in adding a Sports Closet to your organization, contact charlottesportscloset@gmail.com.
The TEAM
Turner Curtis, Founder
Turner Curtis is a sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has been a passionate sports fan and participant from an early age, playing primarily basketball and baseball and was a member of the Myers Park High School football team.
Lucy Curtis, Lead Coordinator
Lucy Curtis is a senior at Myers Park High School where she is goalie and co-captain of the Myers Park Field Hockey Team. Lucy is committed to play field hockey at The Ohio State University.
